The infamous New England Patriots well infamous to most... Have won their 6th championship Sunday evening in a grind out fashion.
Once again the team that seems to always get the job done no matter what, has completed Their task once again. Winning Super Bowl 53 13-3 vs the Los Angeles Rams who were actually in the game until the very end. It was a long and drawn out game compared to past Super Bowls, With both defenses not giving up a touchdown until the 4th quarter after.
Tom Brady or the GOAT as some would say started the game with an interception off a tipped ball aimed for Chris Hogan, but the Rams couldn't capitalize. New England didn't score until the 9 minutes into the 2nd quarter with a field goal by Stephen Gostkowski one of the most reliable kickers in the past 13 years. Meanwhile the Rams could do nothing. 41 year old Tom Brady connected often with tight end Rob Gronkowski and Super Bowl Mvp Julian Edelman who had a game high 10 receptions for 141 yards. In the first half rams had decent drives but could not do anything as drives could not make it into the Patriots red zone.
With neither team scoring in the first half the highlight of the game mid way through the 3rd quarter was the longest punt in Super Bowl history. A break up in the end zone by the twin Devin McCourty brother of Jason McCourty was a game changer by the way they are the first ever twins to play in the same Super Bowl as well as team. The Rams kicker Greg Zuerlein hit a 55 field goal to tie the game late. In the 3rd a BIG completion to Gronk which ended inside the Rams 10 yard line the play was a seam route on a play the Pats ran 3 x in a row to set up a running score by New Englands Sony Michel with 7 min left. On the proceeding drive Brandin Cooks had the ball knocked out once again in the end zone which then led to an interception that ultimately sealed the fate of the Los Angeles Rams by the score of 13-3 after they couldn't connect on field goal to try and onside a kick, to then try and create a miracle that will have to wait until next year.
