It seems that the Kawhi free agency ordeal is finally coming to an end. The 27 year old Small Forward who only played 9 games last year due to a leg injury that never properly healed during the season.
Reports are that the All-Star, and Finals MVP will be going to Toronto in a deal that includes East All-Star Demar DeRozan. Well will Kawhi be the new LeBron in the East?! At least for the time being. Masai Ujiri Raptors president of basketball operations is taking a very big risk in pursuing the trade. Ujiri will make the deal with the hope he can sell Leonard on re-signing with the Raptors next summer, sources said. The Raptors would be able to offer Leonard a five-year, $190 million contract next summer. If Leonard left the Raptors, he could sign a four-year, $141 million deal with a team with the available salary-cap space.
